Vivek Oberoi committed a blunder that was easy for the foreign media to catch.It was April 9, the first day of the many stage shows of Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan and others in the world series with the premiere programme being in Manchester. In Bhopal for Mani Ratnam’s Yuva, Vivek was hoping to hear from Ash when his cellphone flashed a UK number. An excited Vivek started his conversation with “Hi Jaanu...”(he calls Ash only Jaanu!). But instead of Ash, it was BBC in London, which had called him for some sound bytes on Masti.
Smart enough to understand the mix-up, the BBC reporter cooed, “I’m not your Jaanu, I’m calling from the BBC.” It’s to his credit that Vivek took it all sportingly.
