While Aishwarya Rai’s over-committed date schedule is proving to be a blessing in disguise for Priyanka Chopra who has taken her place in a good number of films, Aishwarya Rai is unlikely to be affected by some of the so-called prized projects, according to her business manager, Harii Singh.

Singh was reacting to “speculation” that Priyanka had taken Aishwarya’s place in Chadraprakash Dwivedi’s PRITHVIRAJ SAMYUKTA, after Dwivedi gave up the wait for Aishwarya. “I would like to reserve my comments on Dwivedi’s film, since we are on talks with him for a project but Aishwarya is the last to be affected by such news. I wish Priyanka the best of luck in her endeavor but Ash needn’t worry about people replacing her. As for Aishwarya, she doesn’t really need to look back because she’s got the best films in her kitty. In fact, she’s got a record number of period films lined up from JODHA AKBAR to UMRAO JAAN and Ketan Mehta’s JHANSI KI RANI. There’s YashRaj Films’ DHOOM-II, two other films lined up with Ratan Jain of Venus, besides one with Mani Ratnam. How many more films can she accommodate? Her dates are blocked till January 2007,“ Singh reveals.

Singh has also dismissed rumors that all is not well between Aishwarya and Rajkumar Santoshi, as projected in sections of the press. In fact, Santoshi had not so long ago, gone on record that he was unlikely to work with Ash in any of the two films that were planned with her earlier. “As far as I know, Aishwarya is on the best of terms with Mr. Santoshi. They are family friends and she is committed to do a film with him, details of which are yet undisclosed. The statements attributed to him in a section of the media were misquoted,” he reveals.

Singh has also denied reports that Ash’s demanding international commitments have cost her some good films in Bollywood. “On the contrary she has managed to accommodate some really good films by striking an excellent balance between her international assignments and her films out here,” he justifies. However he admits that she was a bit put off with her experience with the makers of BLUFF MASTER, when Priyanka took her place in the film without her knowledge. “Ash signed the film simply because Rohan Sippy was a great friend and she wanted to give him a moral boost in his second film. We even committed the asked for dates for the film initially. However they had a problem with the combination dates since Riteish Deshmukh was committed to Priyadarshan’s film. They wanted us to allot fresh dates in August when Ash was supposed to be shooting for THE LAST LEGION. They eventually signed Priyanka but we were not even informed about it. The least they could have done was to give us a friendly call,” Singh says.

It may be recalled that Priyanka Chopra has taken Aishwarya’s place in at least three films so far, from BLUFF MASTER, KRRISH, SAHIB BIWI AUR GHULAM. If Priyanka is indeed signed for PRITHVIRAJ SAMYUKTA, it will be the fourth film.
