Aishwarya Rai has given her consent to act in director Tanuja Chandra’s next movie, which is based on some true-life incidents that took place during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. As Tanuja puts it, the yet-to-be-titled film will have Ash playing the role of a girl who did extra-ordinary things at the Gujarat border during the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
The movie, based on a rural theme, will not have any anti-Pak rhetoric. Tanuja says that it is "essentially an anti-war film."
The idea of the film’s story is not of Tanuja’s but has come from producers of the film T. Subbarami Reddy. In fact Reddy’s company Gayatri Telesoft has the rights to the story.
Tanuja says that although Ash has given her consent to play the leading role, the film will go on floors not before this year-end when Ash would be relatively free from her current assignments.
Tanuja is also looking for a hero to play a soldier’s role in the film.
