After her long stint away from the city due to her shooting commitments in Rio de Janeiro for Dhoom 2 and her dance sequence at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Aishwarya Rai returned to Mumbai, exhausted and almost speechless. Yes, she has been diagnosed with laryngitis.

“I can barely speak. Though my voice is getting better, it will take some time for it to get back to normal. I've only a few days off so there is no time to recover as such,” says Aishwarya.

Has laryngitis become fashionable after Karan Johar got it? “I was joking about it with him,” she says. For now, the actress is yet recovering from the overwhelming response she received at Melbourne. “It was way beyond my expectations. My film Bride & Prejudice is still being talked about there.”

And what about her shooting stint with Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan in Rio de Janeiro for Dhoom 2? “We had a ball. It was great fun to be with a unit where work involves least stress,” she adds.

And now Aishwarya is preoccupied with her American project with Will Smith. “I really do want to do this film with Will,” she says. “We really hit it off when we met and the subject that he has in mind does sound interesting to me. Unfortunately Will’s film shoot clashes with Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha-Akbar. But I'm keen to do Will's film.”

Meanwhile the actress seems to have lost a considerable amount of weight. “Not at all! I don't know why people keep saying that,” she says. “In fact, I haven't lost weight at all since I trained for Dhoom 2. After that I have had no time to do anything to look after myself.” Incidentally Priyanka Chopra has the same trainer, Deepika Mehta, for Don that Aishwarya had for Dhoom 2.
