Provoked to be dubbed in three Indian languages

Even while Provoked prepares for its world-wide release, producer Dr J. Murli Manohar has different plans for India. “Since the theme of domestic violence is as relevant in the West as in a remote village of Punjab or Bihar or Tamil Nadu we'd like Provoked to go into places that are ideally not seen as commercially viable for English language films. We therefore plan to dub Provoked into Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.”
Added to the three Indian versions of Provoked, the film will have a new background score.
Commenting on this, music composer for the film A R Rahman says, “I don't think such a thing has ever been done before. But Jagmohan Mundhra and I felt the current music score is too underplayed for the Indian market. In the new version, we like the music to emphasize every scene. We spoke about it, and I got another background score ready for the Indian market.”
The film is expected to be released in India in August.
