After staying out of the country for more than a month, Aishwarya Rai is back in Mumbai, albeit for a four-day break from her shoot in Slovakia. She was shooting for The Last Legion with Colin Firth and Ben Kingsley. “The moment I was informed that they don't require my dates for a few days, I immediately decided to return to India – I was missing my country for sure,” says Aishwarya with a smile, finally tasting homemade food after long, and having spent hours with her family.

Soon as the news of her arrival hit the city, the damsel was flooded with phone calls. “It's good to be back,” she says. The actress attended the off-media ‘mahurat’ of J P Dutta's Umrao Jaan two days ago at Sree Krishna Studio.

And yesterday, she had meetings lined up with producer Aditya Chopra and director Sanjay Gadhvi for the costume trial for Dhoom II. Ash looked fresh, and she has certainly lost weight. “You think so?” she giggles. After meeting Chopra, she was to discuss costumes again, this time with Abu Jani for her period drama Umrao Jaan.

The buzz around is that the designed dresses would be costlier than the outfits Ash wore in Devdas. She will of course also have to squeeze in time for her boyfriend, actor Vivek Oberoi during her short stay.

The actress's business manager says, “Ash will also attend a show organised by the Variety Magazine, of which she is the chief guest, at the Hilton Towers.” That will be probably her only public appearance during her trip to India.

Ash leaves for Paris after five days, for the shoot of a L'Oreal commercial, after which she rejoins the cast and crew of The Last Legion in Slovakia for its final schedule. The busy-abroad actress finally returns to Bollywood by November, to start shoot for Dhoom II.
