The actress was on hand to bring smiles and flowers to a large group of boys and girls who are being treated for cancer. Casually dressed in blue jeans and white hooded top, the svelte beauty handed out roses to the children. And she seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the encounter, as the throng of laughing youngsters gathered around to chat with their glamorous guest.
Rose Day was first staged in Bombay ten years ago as a gesture of support for people fighting cancer. Organisers sell "rose coupons" all over the city so that members of the public can take part in the floral tribute. And this year over 5,000 patients came to the city, where they were greeted by film stars, sports personalities and other celebs.
But there was little doubt about who was the biggest star to offer their support. Aishwarya is well-known for her commitment to good causes. Indeed the 30-year-old was recently honoured by the president of India for her efforts to wipe out polio in the country.
