Pune festival begins with Ray of glam

The Ganesh festival turned into an Aishwarya Rai festival for about an hour on Friday evening as the nation's sweetheart walked into the giant Ganesh Kala Krida Manch hall to inaugurate the Pune Festival cultural extravaganza. For over 20,000 eyes, which had been straining to catch a glimpse of the actress since late afternoon, the wait suddenly proved worthwhile.
For the next hour or so, they followed her every movement, her every tossing of hair and adjustment of pallav. They had started pouring into the auditorium a good two hours before the scheduled start.
But in true Bollywood style, she arrived late by about 30 minutes. By then, the inaugural show had gotten off in fits and starts.
