Rahman, Mundhra to work together

Internationally acclaimed music director, A R Rahman has been signed to compose the background score for Jagmohan Mundhra's forthcoming venture, an English film called Provoked.
“I wanted to work with Rahman 10 years ago for my film, Tropical Heat for producer Ashok Amritraj. He turned down my offer then but this time when I approached him, he wanted to see the rushes of the film. After seeing the rough cut, he agreed to compose music for the film,” said Mundhra.
Provoked is a story on marital abuse based on Kiranjit Alhuwalia's novel "A Circle Of Light". The film stars Aishwarya Rai, Nandita Das, Naveen Andrews, Robbie Coltrane and Karen Shenaz David.
“Music is important in my film as the protagonist doesn't say much. Her inner anger will be depicted through the music. There will be only one song, which I will use as the title track,” informs the director. Actress and playback singer Karen S David will lend her voice to the track, while certain Punjabi words in the song would be recorded in Rahman's voice.
“Karen plays an important character in my film. In fact the song that we are using is written by her. Her play, Far Pavilion in London is doing really well. She is an amazing singer,” certifies the director.
