'Happy Birthday' given the slip

Director Gaurang Doshi’s Happy Birthday is not going as planned. Both John Abraham and Aishwarya Rai have backed out of the project, which was to be released sometime next year.
The untried pair, however, has shifted base to the Sippy camp and will do a film for Rohan early next year. What’s more, it seems John and Ash have taken director Sriram Raghavan with them!
Shifting path
Confirming the development, Sriram says, “We’re no longer working with Gaurang. John, Aishwarya and I are now doing an untitled project for Rohan Sippy.”
Incidentally, Abhishek and Rohan are best buddies and are all set to do another film after Bluff Master. “Yes,” concedes Sriram, “But that’s a separate project. Abhishek isn’t doing my film. John and Ash are.”
Raghavan’s film for Sippy will see John and Ash come together for the first time. Soon after, Sunil Shetty will bring John, Ash and Abhishek together in Raaste.
Says Shetty, “The film got delayed because Abhishek’s dates were taken for other commitments, like the wedding, honeymoon, Drona, etc. We lost the opportunity to shoot a particular race in Mexico that happens just once a year. We have to wait till next year to shoot it now. But the project is very much on.”
