| Almost weeks after the Abhi-Ash wedding, the nostalgia of the event still lingers. Amitabh Bachchan recently sent out wedding cards and a box of sweets to a select few people in the media. The wedding card says Ash and Abhi desired a quiet and simple wedding. Now there’s a reason as to why the big wigs from the industry weren’t invited for the ceremony. But Mr. Bachchan did not leave anyone left feeling bad about not being invited and made sure that the ones who weren’t invited got sweets and a letter personally written by him. Read more... |
Aishwarya wanted a south Indian flavour to her marriage

The shehnai was replaced by the nadaswaram at the wedding of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, with a four-member team of musicians from here playing traditional tunes with a south Indian flavour selected by the bride.

In the afterglow of the AbhiAsh wedding, Amitabh Bachchan says he is looking forward to his new daughter-in-law bringing more happiness into the family.
'We're happy that the union has taken place. I'm sure there'll be even more happiness in the house because of Aishwarya. There were some truly heart-warming moments during the wedding and I'd like to believe they were moments that will remain with us for the rest of our lives,' Amitabh told IANS in an interview. Big B: "The wedding video rights are not sold to any channel"

Reacting to a story that the filming rights of the Abhishek-Aishwarya wedding were given to a TV channel, the Big B says, "This is totally false. No such rights were given. And even if we were offered such a deal, we'd have rejected it outright. The wedding was a very private moment for our family and close friends."
Continues the Big B, "According to a report we've sold the filming rights for Rs. 5 crores to a tv channel. We've received a letter from Mr Rajiv Bakshi to whose channel we were reported to have sold the filming rights. He categorically states that the report was completely false. Neither have we promised photographs to any particular publication. The truth is, today (April 25) I haven't got any photographs. They're expected any time now." Read more... |

Newlywed Bollywood star says she won't give up the day job

Aishwarya Rai, the Bollywood megastar, is to carry on acting after her marriage last week, breaking the mould for Indian actresses who generally retire after tying the knot.
But in a careful nod to Indian tradition, the former Miss World has adopted the surname of her new husband, Abhishek Bachchan, and decided to live in the Bachchan family home in Bombay.
The decisions were announced by her father-in-law, the 66-year-old screen legend Amitabh Bachchan, whose own wife, Jaya, largely gave up acting after their marriage in 1973. Read more... |
